Day 1: Play Matters - The Importance of Play
We explore the theory of play and why play is fundamental for education in the early primary years and discuss the latest neuroscientific breakthroughs and how this impacts our understandings of young children’s development.
This seminar also includes an introductory presentation by our education consultant on Play-Based learning through Walker Learning pedagogy.
A copy of the educator text "Early Childhood Play Matters" ( by Walker& Bass, Published by ACER Press ) will be included.
Day 2: Creating Enriching Learning Environments in a Play-Based pedagogy
How do we create interesting and meaningful environments that promote, engage and sustain children’s Learning through Play?
This session explores the importance of creating spaces that nurture and inspire whilst facilitating learning. We also unpack considerations for design, set up, materials and equipment and the importance of open ended learning spaces.
