The recent news items this week claiming that it does no harm to hit children are misleading and highly inappropriate. The reality is that an adult never needs to hit a child to discipline them.
In addition, hitting children gives a double message to children who grow up hearing that it is not ok to hit or hurt others. Secondly, hitting places fear into children's minds. We can discipline children without them fearing us!!!
