Meaningful reporting to parents

Date:
16 November 2009

As the final school term for 2009 soon draws to a close across Australia remember as a parent, that the most meanginful assessment and reporting about children is not an A, B, C or D on a report form.
It is not where they are in relation to everyone else but where they were at the beginning of the year, where they are now, and if their progress was steady and heading in the right direction. All children learn and develop at individual rates. It also about their emotional and social selves and their own beliefs about who they are. Their sense of identity, self esteem and resilience.
